The 2022 Catena Zapata Adrianna Vineyard Fortuna Terrae Malbec is a distinguished high altitude wine from the Gualtallary district of the Uco Valley in Mendoza Argentina. Produced from a five hectare parcel situated at 1366 meters above sea level this 100 percent Malbec is grown in deep loamy soils with limestone covered white stones which contribute to its characteristic chalky texture. The wine is crafted using traditional techniques including cold maceration and fermentation with a high percentage of whole clusters followed by aging for 14 to 18 months in French oak barrels. It presents a deep purple hue and an aromatic profile of blackberries plums lavender and subtle spice. On the palate it is medium to full bodied with a polished structure vibrant acidity and fine grained tannins offering a balanced finish with notes of cherry and mineral tension.
