The 2019 Chateau D'Issan is a powerful yet elegant Margaux, highly regarded as one of the estate's finest vintages alongside 2015. This Third Growth Bordeaux is a blend dominated by 70% Cabernet Sauvignon and 30% Merlot, though some records suggest smaller portions of Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, and Malbec. It presents a deep garnet-purple color with a sophisticated bouquet of cassis, black cherry, violets, and chocolate, underpinned by nuances of graphite, tobacco, and damp earth. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and concentrated, featuring a silky texture, fresh acidity, and firm, ripe tannins that lead to a persistent, mineral-inflected finish.
