Clos Apalta 2018
MYR 598.00
Clos Apalta 2018 is a highly concentrated, Carménère-dominant Chilean red blend sourced from dry-farmed, pre-phylloxera vines in the biodynamically certified Apalta Valley within Colchagua. The vintage blends 64% Carménère, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 18% Merlot, undergoing meticulous optical sorting, wild yeast fermentation, and gravity-fed extraction in French oak vats. The wine is subsequently aged for 24 months in 100% new French oak barrels, a rigorous maturation process that provides a massive but polished structural framework. This yields a deep, inky profile dominated by intense primary aromas of ripe blackberry, dark plum, and cassis, seamlessly layered with secondary notes of tobacco leaf, espresso, and black olive. On the palate, it delivers a full-bodied, densely textured weight defined by sculpted, velvety tannins and bright underlying acidity, culminating in a highly structured, complex finish engineered for long-term cellaring.
