The 2021 Clos Apalta is an organically farmed Bordeaux-style blend from Chile's Apalta Valley, composed of 75% Carménère, 18% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 7% Merlot. Matured for 21 months in predominantly new French oak (78%), the wine delivers an intensely aromatic profile of dense black cherry, ripe plum, and redcurrant, underscored by savory notes of graphite, Szechuan peppercorn, and dried herbs. On the palate, it presents a concentrated yet elegant structure with polished, tightly coiled tannins, lifted acidity, and a persistent finish that vividly reflects the cooler, fresh conditions of the 2021 vintage.
