The Clos Mogador Gratallops Priorat 2021 is a benchmark Spanish red wine from the Priorat region, crafted by pioneer René Barbier. The 2021 vintage represents a shift toward greater freshness and elegance, comprising a blend of approximately 45% Garnacha, 29% Cariñena, 16% Syrah, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Fermented with 30% whole clusters to enhance its vibrancy and subjected to a long maceration, the wine is aged primarily in 2,000-liter oak foudres before resting in concrete. Its aromatic profile is highly complex, defined by intense blackcurrant, plum, and crushed blueberries, layered with Priorat’s signature terroir notes of wet slate (llicorella), graphite, iron, and Mediterranean herbs.
