Delas Les Bessards Hermitage 2017

The 2017 Delas Freres Hermitage Les Bessards is a powerful and structured 100 percent Syrah sourced from the oldest vines on the granite slopes of the western Hermitage hill. It presents a deep red hue and complex aromas of blackberries, violets, cassis, and hints of crushed stone and pencil shavings. On the palate, this full bodied wine offers rich layers of dark fruit, savory herbs, and firm tannins balanced by fresh acidity and a long, spice tinged finish. Produced only in exceptional years with limited production, it is aged for 12 to 14 months in oak barrels and is designed for significant aging potential, rewarding cellaring for two decades or more.
