The 2023 Domaine Anne Gros & Jean-Paul Tollot "La Ciaude" is a Minervois red blend comprising approximately equal parts Syrah, Grenache, and old-vine Carignan (including parcels planted in 1904) cultivated on south-facing limestone and clay soils in the high-altitude Cazelles terroir. Applying their Burgundian background, the winemakers utilize total destemming and age the wine in a split of 80% oak barrels and 20% stainless steel vats. The 2023 vintage presents a concentrated, high-alcohol (14.5%–15% ABV) profile dominated by black cherry, dark plum, and Mediterranean herbs (garrigue), structured by dense, fine-grained tannins and a distinct mineral finish derived from the white limestone of Agel.
