La Figuera Monsant Com Tu 2021

The "Com Tu" 2021 is a highly expressive, terroir-driven Montsant red wine crafted by the Barbier family—renowned for Clos Mogador—from 100% old-vine Garnacha. Sourced exclusively from the high-altitude village of La Figuera, the vines are rooted in calcareous white and red clay soils rather than the famous slate of neighboring Priorat, yielding a remarkably fresh and vibrant profile. The 2021 vintage was fermented with indigenous yeasts and a high percentage of whole clusters, then aged in large 5,000-liter oak foudres before fine-tuning in concrete. This lighter-extraction approach results in an ethereal, pale-colored wine that delivers highly perfumed aromas of wild strawberries, sour cherries, and violets, distinctly accented by a signature note of orange peel and incense. On the palate, it is medium-bodied and fluid, balancing its juicy red fruit and contained 14% ABV with vibrant acidity and fine, chalky tannins that culminate in a pure, sapid, and mineral-driven finish.
