The 2020 Le Marquis de Calon Segur is a sophisticated second wine from the historic Saint-Estephe estate, typically composed of approximately 50% Merlot, 49% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 1% Petit Verdot. It presents a deep ruby color with an aromatic profile of wild strawberries, concentrated dark fruit, and hints of graphite and mint. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and velvety, characterized by fine-grained tannins and a fresh acidity that balances its 14.6% alcohol content. Following 17 months of aging in oak barrels, it offers a more approachable and gourmand alternative to the Grand Vin while maintaining the classic structural density of its terroir.
